My Situation I'm in first place in the league. You can keep three keepers max of three years. The year after you drafted a player, you can keep him at that round you chose. After that he becomes a first round keeper.
I was offered the following trade -- Braun (1st round keeper) for Jup (10th round keeper) and Pineda (20th round keeper) or CJ Wilson (16th round keeper). Wilson and Pineda are top 25 in scoring. JUp is 10th among OF and Braun is Top 5 even with his DL time. The guy trading Braun is looking to rebuild and can't keep Braun after this year (3 year max) but by trading him to me I can keep him for two years. I probably would keep JUp and Pineda as two of my three keepers for next year Thanks and will definitely help in return.
Thanks for the response. Rest of my roster is: C - Napoli 1B - Fielder (5th round) 2B - Cuddyer SS - HanRam 3B - Pablo OF - Bruce, JUp, Morse Ut - Prado Bench - Heyward
All of my guys are eligible to be kept. With three keepers I usually go with value and have rarely kept a guy for multiple years (HanRam was the exception....1st round keeper last year). As of now, my best value guys for next year are Fielder (5th), Upton (10th), Pineda (20th) and Wilson (16th). Obviously with Braun, I would keep him and lose 1st round pick. Last year keepers who will be 1st round if I keep them are HanRam, Lester and Kershaw.
I'm going to be the voice of dissent and say if you're playing to be good for many years, pass up this deal. The value of the Pineda and Justin Upton as keepers for next year is just crazy. If you want to win this year, and don't care about the rest, go for it.
