Man, lots of infielders over there in Cleveland. The Flying Cabreras up the middle, Cord Phelps brief attempt at 2B, Hannahan/Chisenhall at 3B, and now Kipnis. He'll have to be productive pretty soon if he wants to get regular at-bats.
As things currently stand, veteran Orlando Cabrera is serving as the Tribe's starting second baseman. Outfielders Michael Brantley and Travis Buck -- both out Wednesday with health woes -- are expected to be available for Friday's home game against the White Sox. Kipnis will likely share time with Cabrera at second, but he could play outfield in an emergency.
Is he drawing comparisons to anyone? What can we hope for this year and beyond? I have him locked up in a dynasty for a couple years and have only read good things about him, decent power/speed combo with average
I'd say he projects more power than speed, though his steals have increased at a higher rate than homers. He's 12/12/.279 so far this year in the minors (his avg has dropped quite a bit this year). Is 10/10/.265 the rest of the way reasonable?
