Pitcher trade

Postby Surfs up » Wed Jul 20, 2011 10:22 pm

I've been offered Max Scherzer for Buchholz straight up. Max has scared me after a terrific start . Buchholz could have back problems the rest of the season. I like the offense and bullpen better behind him . Keeper league.

Eh...Scherzer is healthy. I'd go with him if its a back end starter.

I'd go with Scherzer as well. More upside with the strikeout potential.

I like Buchholz slightly more because Scherzer has been widely inconsistent. Scherzer might have more upside but he also has a lower flower. If you can wait until Buchholz gets back, I would do that and have him for the playoffs. Unless this is a pretty deep league or salaries, I don't see you keeping either one.

I realize Max is healthy. But Buchholz seems to have the higher ceiling. And as pointed out Max is up and down. Same thing last year only this year he started fast and has slowed way down. Last year the other way around.
We don't do playoffs. Roto 5x5 12 mixed team 6 player keeper.
Its a bit early to be looking at keepers but as of right now my keepers would be. Bautista, Pujlos, Hanley, Miggy and Hosmer. With the possibility of keeping one pitcher . Either Beachy, Worley or Hanrahan. I don't really like keeping a closer with only six keepers.
