So I said what the heck and took him to play at 2B until Reyes is elig., gambling that maybe the nice, new desert location as well as a winter of hard work would payoff. Who knows when exactly Reyes will be elig., however, and I gotta sk myself if maybe I should consider some other options, namely:
D. Jiménez (Cin - 2B) - career year? changed his off-season workout program to better prepare him
D. Relaford (KC - 2B,3B,RF)- more playing time=more steals
J. Spivey (Mil - 2B)- comeback?
Also: Walker, E.Young, Rivas, O.Hudson
Thoughts? Like I said, this will prob. only be for the next month or so. Maybe I'm just as well using Alomar, but he won't be stealing to many bags which would be a nice thing to get from this position.
Anyone wanna take a stab at this? I'm basicly looking for the guy who will hurt me the least while giving me hopefully a decent avg. plus another cat. like steals or runs.
I'm in the exact same position. I took Alomar. Maybe it's because I'm a Jays fan and remember when he carried the Jays to 2 world series titles. But hell it's only for 2 weeks. I think he'll be ok in Arizona. And in those 2 weeks maybe he'll convince me to trade Nomar to help my god awful pitching staff. and put Reyes in at SS. You never know. Just go with who you think is going to do the best the first couple weeks. You'll be pissed if you pick someone else's pick and the guy you wanted ends up having a good month.

Good point. Consensus seems to be that Jimenez is a better bet, but Alomar could be good, too. Man, tough call here. Like you say it's only for a couple of weeks. Something tells me to go with a young guyy rather than a has been but I just don't know. I have Nomah, too. Interesting idea about trading him for pitching help. Man, Nomah could get us just about anybody
I too am in the same boat gamble on Alomar till Reyes is elgible 20 games in my leaguew/ D'angelo a FA the thing I like best about Alomar is starting the season in Colorado
