This probably only applies to people in deep leagues (especially AL/NL Only), but after the trade deadline, some teams will need to fill roles with players from the minor leagues or their benches and I was wondering who some of you thought would receive extra PT once their team trades a starter away?

For example some situations that I am watching closely are:

NYM- Who will get the outfield playing time if/when Beltran gets traded, Duda or Fernando Martinez?
ATL- Mike Minor likely gets to start if Derek Lowe is traded
SD- Who closes if Bell and Adams get traded? Gregerson? Qualls?
TB- Does Desmond Jennings get called up if Upton is traded?

some guys in SD to monitor are

Blanks and Darnell possibly getting callups to play LF if Ludwick is moved
Gregorson is 3rd in line to close. With Spence moving into the setup role possible. Brad Brach is another guy who could be called up and have immediate success in the pen

I haven't been paying attention to who are the starters right now for the Mets. the 3 OF now are Beltran, Pagan, Bay? if Beltran is traded, wouldn't Scott Hairston become the regular?

similar situation in Sand Diego. right now its.. Ludwick, Maybin, Venable? if Ludwick is traded, wouldn't Chris Denorfia become a regular?

That's a good point about Darnell and Blanks. I assume Blanks would get the call first, but its worth looking at both. Its possible they would just have Denorfia start, but I thought he was splitting time with Venable for a reason.

On the Mets, Hairston could just get the starts, but I get the feeling they'd rather see what they have in one of their youngsters.

Also, that reminds me. Who starts in the outfield in Houston if Pence or Bourn are traded? J.D. Martinez? Brian Bogusevic or Jason Michaels?

Duda is getting a little bit of 1B time right now too ...

ATL- Mike Minor likely gets to start if Derek Lowe is traded

Minor hasn't exactly been stellar in his opportunities this year, and he'll have Tehrehan and soon Medlen pushing him. I think Mike Minor gets first crack, but he is no lock for playing time this year.

SD- Who closes if Bell and Adams get traded? Gregerson? Qualls?

Id think Gregerson gets first crack then Frieri. The market seems to be flooded with relievers right, ie its a buyers market, so this leads me to beleive that Adams wont be dealt. Maybe this winter, or next July, but i just dont see anybody stepping up to get his services right now.

TB- Does Desmond Jennings get called up if Upton is traded?

I dont think Upton gets moved. Tampa is in the hunt, and Upton is playing well right now.

J.D. Martinez pulled from Double-A game (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/6411/jd-martinez), may be called up to replace Pence. Who do you think gets the at-bats, him or Bourgeois?
