*Trade* Would you do this ?

Postby mortl » Sun Jul 17, 2011 6:43 pm

My Team looks like this:
C A.Avila
1b Agon
2b Danny Espinosa
3b. Beltre
SS. JJ hardy
OF Pence
OF Morse
OF Cuddyer
Util Sandoval

Pitchers: Nolasco, Shields, Price, Marcum, Harrison, DHudson, Colon, Scherzer, Scott Baker, Cordero & Perez.
*** I was offered tulo, beltran, brantley, niese, and gee for beltre, hardy, morse, marcum, and dhudson. I figured tulo is going to heat up and overall is better than hardy. Beltre is the leader in Rbis for 3b but Pablo can easily fill in and can rake and hits for better average, obs, ops, and slugging... Beltran > Morse but i think i lose in the pitching department. What do you guys think - Is it worth it ?

tulo > hardy

beltran =ish beltre

brantley > morse (only due to sb's offered by brantley)

niese =ish marcum

gee < hudson

overall i don't think you're getting hurt.. that being said i don't know that you gain anything. really depends on where you stand in your league. if you're winning a lot of pitching battles and losing in batting, you might need this trade. and vice versa.

i think hardy and morse are going to cool down and not be nearly as productive as their first half. so i like the trade.

it's close tho

yeah its close another person told me to do it if i need hitting but dont do it if i really need the pitching. Im in 10 person H2h league and after tonight ill be in like 6th. The shortened week really F'd my team over and just want to feel like i have the right lineup for the playoffs assuming I make it with this team.

Also there are a few gambles I could look at on the FA list such as Wakefield, Capuano, Derek Lowe, Randy Wolf, Ervin Santana and a few others

Thanks for the response

I agree with what he said, except I actually like Niese over Marcum. A lefty is a nice commodity. Look @ Niese's stats over his last 7-10 starts and who he's pitched against. It's no fluke.

Tulo>Hardy
Beltran=Beltre
Morse=Brantley
Hudson and Gee is a coin flip for the second half. Also, Gee gets a 2-start this week.

I think the trade helps you, especially with the Mets hitting and not @ full strength. :-D

Help please? Thanks! ;-D viewtopic.php?t=435157

I like this for you overall. It doesn't hurt you at all and in fact it betters your team in my opinion which is the point of trading right? Just getting Beltran and Tulo I like it. PUll the trigger.

please help

The fact that you're getting Tulo overrides just about everything else.

Hudson and Marcum is a much better duo than Niese and Gee, but it's not such an egregious move that I would say no. Any time you can grab someone like Tulo without giving up your three best players (which in your case are Adrian Gonzalez, Danny Espinosa, and Hunter Pence), it's a nice deal.

Niese is underrated, and a great source of K's, while Gee is someone you should probably drop outright once the trade goes through. I'm sure there's someone on the wire much better than Gee.

mpieco i might drop gee but i'm not sure if theres any guys on the FA list that are A) better than gee or B) worth it. When picking up pitchers I like to factor in what team they play for as well ... I'm sure everyone else does that as well.

Mpieco I mentioned a few names in a previous post that could be options for my rotation. Would you take a fliar on any of these guys ?

I see it...Wakefield is a no-no, but just about anyone else would be better. Capuano is a very underrated (Mets) starter, and is a better option than Gee. Gee has come back down to earth for sure (16 ER in 22 innings, i think?), and while that is insane, I think he's more like the recent Gee than the beginning Gee.

Randy Wolf might be the best way to go. Great offense behind him, and he's got a penchant for stepping up when need be.
