Closer Situation...WHIR

Postby CubsFan4Life23 » Fri Jul 15, 2011 5:51 pm

So, I currently have Prado on the DL...Is it safe to say that I can drop Bastardo with Madson back?

Also, I own Nathan, Farnsworth and Parnell...Should I consider Crow, Rauch, Koji, M Dunn, D Hernandez over Nathan or Parnell? I would like to have at least 2 or 3 solid closers come playoff time, which is why I am looking ahead to the possibilities of closers being dealt before the deadline...any help would be appreciated! Leave a link.

my team (12 teams H2H, keep 6 per year, 5x5)
C - Aliva
1B - M Cabrera
2B - Ackley
SS - Tulo
3B - Zimmerman
OF - Berkman
OF - JUpton
OF - Morse
U - A Gordon
U - A Jones
Bench - Rasmus
DL - S. Choo
DL - Prado

SP - Cain / Price / DHudson / Garza / IKennedy / Hanson
RP - Nathan / Bastardo / Parnell / Farnsworth

I'd say drop Bastardo to get the room for Prado.

In terms of closing in the future...Hold on Nathan and Parnell for now. Out of that list, those 2 are the best bets for closing by the end of the year. Follow the trade rumors closely (specifically Soria with KC) to see if there's someone with more closing potential than Nathan and/or Parnell.
(In reference to an Aaron Hill for David Price swap)

Yeah, I'd drop Bastardo. With him gone you've got essentially no droppable players though. You'll have to really keep an eye on the closer market in the next few weeks, as you've got some volatility there.
