12 team 5x5 roto...keep any 10 players indefinitely...if you choose less than 10, you get earlier draft picks.

1B Adrian Gonzalez (Bos - 1B)
2B Robinson Canó (NYY - 2B)

OF Brett Gardner (NYY - OF)
OF Nelson Cruz (Tex - OF)
OF Ángel Pagán (NYM - OF)
Util JJ Hardy (Bal - SS)
BN Travis Snider (Tor - OF)
BN Eduardo Nunez (NYY - 3B, SS)
DL Ike Davis (NYM - 1B)

SP Zack Greinke (Mil - SP)
SP Alexi Ogando (Tex - SP,RP)
SP Justin Verlander (Det - SP)

Hmm...

There are three more players I'd consider keeping, and I'll rank them in the order that I would keep (I'm thinking you should keep under 10 to improve draft position).

1). Strasburg
2). Greinke
3). Hosmer
(In reference to an Aaron Hill for David Price swap)

Personally, for the next four I like

Hosmer (potential to be one of the best in baseball, do you REALLY want to give up such a cheap investment?)
Greinke (struggling this year, but the Brew Crew are set up to dominate the NL Central for a while)
Strasburg (screw the injury, you saw what he did pre Tommy J....higher risk, insanely high reward)
Hellickson (yes, im a sucker for young pitchers, but hes in a good spot with a smart manager who wont kill him)

Please help with mine.

curious to know how not picking keepers improves your draft?

If not a big difference, then you might as well hold onto the guys other posters mentioned. But would really want to keep Hosmer out of remaining guys given that you have that extra IF and UTIL spot to fill...that spot should be for a 1B.

If another team has 12 great keepers, they have to drop 2...so I would have a better chance of getting whoever he had to drop.

i agree with hosmer, greinke, strasburg. Then I'd take ogando. However I would sacrifice ogando, and strasburg for draft position

Thanks for the help on mine.

One to keep:

Strasburg - I saw the kid pitch in DC. If he is ANYWHERE near as good after surgey as he was before, he can be a top-10 kind of guy by 2013.

Three to watch in the second half:

Ike Davis - Sure looked like a superstar for the first 40 games this year. If he can come back strong from this injury, keep him around.

Beachy - Future Smoltz? Or future Steve Avery? See if the league figures him out.

Greinke - I still say his Cy Young year was a fluke, but he may be able to right the ship in the second half and prove me wrong.

If it were me, I'd add Hosmer and Strasburg.
I would be kicking myself if he comes back and he dominates for someone else.
If you had 10-12 no doubters and you were debating him that would be a little different.

Last two I'd go Hellickson and then Greinke...especially if the Rasmus/Hellickson rumors come to fruition...which I'm not sure why that deal would be made. I think Greinke is a bit overrated, but the NL and Brewer factor help out considerably.

cool. well then I'd just add Hosmer to that bunch....you could probably grab someone else's leftovers to fill out the rest...it's only 12 teams so you should be able to grab a few gems outside of top 120 or so players.

you could always add wainwright for next year for nothing at all probably...

I'd hold Carlos Santana, I truly believe he will be the number one catcher in the near future and that near future could come alot sooner than expected. There is huge potential here if he can bring his average up, and at a shallow position, he should be a great investment
