Renteria is significantly better than Chavez, Burroughs is better than Polanco, and Wells is better than Berkman. No way this should be vetoed, it's not even clear who comes out the winner. Like Cornbread said, Chavez is way over-rated. And why would adding in Crosby and Khalil Greene change anything? That's like saying "OK A-Rod, you won't sign for $10,000,000, how about $10,000,500?" It's insignificant.
"Jack, will you call me, if you're able?"
"I've got your phone number written, in the back of my Bible."
If serious thought is being put into whether or not this should be vetoed when the season hasn't even started, I feel sorry for anyone who tries to make a trade in this league during the season. They better hope that the BA, HR, RBI, Runs, SBs, ERA, WHIP, Ks, Ws, Saves of all the players on each side of the trade are completely identical or it won't go through.

On what planet? Fantasy baseball is about STATISTICS, not rooting for your favorite player. Please check the NUMBERS for the past two seasons and explain how either Renteria or Burroughs proves the statement. Come on ....
Based solely on recent stats, in 5x5, at least, Renteria had quite a large edge over Chavez in 2003, mainly due to SBs. The year before, Chavez was more valuable, but it was very close.
In any case, I wouldn't even begin to consider vetoing this deal, with or without Crosby and Greene.
