Ubaldo or Cain?

So here's the deal. I'm in the midst of a trade and I can have either Ubaldo Jimenez or Matt Cain. Which would you prefer? I leaned towards Cain, but if you look at the Rockies' matchups in September, Ubaldo will probably have an easier time than Cain:

DBacks, Padres, DBacks, Reds, Brewers, Giants, Padres, Astros, Giants.

Giants: Cubs, DBacks, Padres, Dodgers, Padres, Rockies, Dodgers, DBacks, Rockies

I have two offensive players to unload because of Wright and Crawford coming back so I thought I might as well upgrade. I know I'm discounting the offense a little, but I think it's ok. Thoughts?

I really think you are giving up too much here. I would take out Boesch or Morse and give him one of your RP's instead to make the trade a little more even.

I like Ubaldo but he hasn't proven much this year so I would have to go with Cain.

I'd take Ubaldo actually--I agree, he will have the better matchups and thus the better second half.

I know a lot of people think Boesch/Morse is giving up a bit too much, but to upgrade Norris/Morrow (two K-heavy pitchers, but can hurt WHIP and other cats as well) you have to give up stuff. And honestly, I don't expect a big second half from any of those 4 players, except MAYBE Norris.

But to get Lester and Ubaldo is a nice idea. See if you can buy low on a hitter on his team--what's his roster look like?

You could definitely be right, but I would offer with a RP first to see if he takes it. Cause the trade will still be fair imo. But if he backs off you should definitely be able to seal the deal with Morse and Boesch included.
