Dynasty Trade - WHIR

18 team dynasty league, my team is terrible and in last place. Standard 5x5 scoring, minor league rosters. Every year there is a rookie draft, and being that I'm in last place my pick will most likely be top 3 picks of the draft. I have posted this earlier and finally talked one of the other owners down on his trade offer. The current offer is :

Give: My first round pick in rookie draft (probably Anthony Rendon) and Zack Cozart
Receive: Jay Bruce

I like that I'm getting proven production from a young (24) Jay Bruce, but who knows how good Anthony Rendon or a guy like Gerrit Cole that I can draft with that pick can be. Thoughts?

I am not VERY knowledgable when it comes to minor league players, but it does seem to me that it will take awhile for Garrit Cole to reach the major league level.

I would take a proven, young talent on Bruce over some young players that could wash out.

I agree. While I'm not terribly in the know when it comes to the minors, I would take a young, proven talent any day over two guys who may or may not ever become anything. You think the Tigers are regretting dealing away Andrew Miller and Cameron Maybin to get Cabrera? Those two guys were at one time the top prospects in the Detroit system and now? Like four years later, they are both barely major leaguers and almost certainly will never become impact players. Go with the proven commodity, especially when you're talking a still young dude like Bruce....

Very nice deal for you. Bruce is already producing in the major leagues now, and the sky is the limit for him.

Well this would give you a great OF to build around, yes I'd take that deal. The only problem is you'll need a 3b bad soon. You need some kind of a young ace to build around also.

What is available in FA (look I've played in leagues like this before....I want you to go to the back of the FA pages and post a list of young talent, time to stockpile looks like your tooling for future especially post pitching highlights) even in a deep league you have virtually no top 50ish starters.
