Am I giving too much for Lance Berkman? *ALWAYS* WHIR ASAP!

SITUATION:
12-team 6x6 mixed keeper (AVG, RBI, HR, R, SB, OBP the offensive categories). We have a first half winner, second half winner, and total winner. After All-Star break, league resets to zero and we start over with existing teams. I won the first half with an almost unprecedented sweep of ALL offensive categories (lost AVG by .002 pts when my challenger had Andre Ethier hit his second HR on the final game of the final day), and won Saves, had low ERA and WHIP, basically punted Wins and Ks (as you'll see when you see my pitching staff below).

CURRENT TEAM:
(assembled through keepers, draft & some very good/lucky trades).

1B - Votto
2B - Weeks
SS - Reyes
3B - Bautista
OF - Kemp, CarGo, Bourn, N.Cruz
BENCH/UTIL: M. Joyce, Bourgeois, J.Weeks, D.Jennings, E.Bonifacio, P.Alvarez
STAFF: Hanrahan, League, Salas, Santos, Walden, Adams, Downs, D.Hernandez

THE OFFER:
I give: Joyce, League, Bourgeois
I get: Berkman

REASONING:
Bourgeois, as productive as he's been, hasn't gotten regular ABs and can't stay healthy. I should be good on steals with Bourn, Reyes (hammy willing), Kemp, Cargo (wrist willing), and assortes steals from Cruz/Votto/Weeks/Bonifacio. Getting another bonafide slugger in Berkman all but guarantees a top or close to top finish in offense again, and while I'd hate to lose league, I'm deep at closer and hopefully Bell gets dealt and Adams becomes the man in SD. And who knows which Joyce will show up in second half.

So, do I lose those 3 guys for Berkman? Leave a link, WHIP ASAP

This is a tough one. I feel like you don't really need Berkman, but if you're not that high on the three players you are giving up you should probably do it. I'm just wondering if Berkman can keep this up for the 2nd half.That being said, your OF would be STACKED

I would say go for it as long as you think Berkman can stay healthy. I don't see his numbers going down unless he gets hurt. Thanks for the hlep on my post

Thanks for the help on mine. Is there anybody else out there that you could get better than Berkman? I think the deal is worth it given your situation, but you might be able to target a more reliable player than Berkman.

I like this trade.. two bench players and a closer (out of a bunch) for solid production. You don't really need berkman, but who wouldn't want to gain power and avg. Plus depending on the WW in your league you can add a stray reliever or two.

1). I think Lance Berkman will fade a bit.

2). I don't mind losing either of those 2 OF's.

3). I mind losing League a little bit.


Completely your choice. Would I do it? Probably...especially if I can find someone like Parnell/Izzy/Chapman on the WW.

I agree here. Berkman has benefited this season from being fully healthy. While he may slow a bit, I still see him putting up good numbers in the second half. I think that this is a good deal for you, you're not giving up too much to get the best player in return.
