18 team dynasty league, my team is terrible and in last place. Standard 5x5 scoring, minor league rosters. Every year there is a rookie draft, and being that I'm in last place my pick will most likely be top 3 picks of the draft.
I have two offers on the table:
Option 1: Jay Bruce for my 2012 1st round pick, Zack Cozart, and Jose Valverde
Option 2: David Wright, Brandon Morrow, Jonathon Lucroy, 2013 3rd Round, 2014 3rd Round for my 2012 1st round pick and Zack Cozart
Option 3: Do nothing and draft Anthony Rendon (or maybe Cole) with a top 3 pick in the draft
My team: C- Ramon Hernandez (Cin - C) 1B James Loney (LAD - 1B) 2B Omar Infante (Fla - 2B,3B,SS,OF) 3B Scott Rolen (Cin - 3B) SS Alcides Escobar (KC - SS) OF Justin Upton (Ari - OF) OF Alex Presley (Pit - OF) OF Austin Jackson (Det - OF) Util Vernon Wells (LAA - OF) SP Tyler Chatwood (LAA - SP)NA SP Jason Marquis (Was - SP) SP Tom Gorzelanny (Was - SP,RP) SP John Lackey (Bos - SP) RP Jose Valverde (Det - RP) RP David Robertson (NYY - RP) P Rafael Perez (Cle - RP) P Rex Brothers (Col - RP) P Takashi Saito (Mil - RP) BN Chris Carter (Oak - 1B,OF) BN Dee Gordon (LAD - SS)NA BN Jeff Baker (ChC - 1B,2B,3B) BN Desmond Jennings (TB - OF)NA BN Zack Cozart (Cin - SS) DL Ike Davis (NYM - 1B)DL BN Javier Vazquez (Fla - SP,RP) BN Mike Pelfrey (NYM - SP)
My Minor League team: Julio Teheran Desmond Jennings Dee Gordon Jarred Cosart Jake Odorizzi Chris Carter Michael Taylor Nolan Arenado Juan Francisco Adeiny Hechavarria Tyler Flowers Jeremy Jeffress
if your team is awful then you need to play for the future and i'm not convinced either trade does that real well. if you wanted to trade i'd do the second as it looks like the biggest hole on your team is pitching. but i think i'd just hold tight with the pick
It looks like your team does need quite a bit of improvement for you to seriously contend. Maybe if you could get the price to come down on Bruce a bit I'd think about that. But really, you need to look to try to upgrade some of your minor league talent and young major league players, not take on players that make you a more competitive lower tier team.
Here's what I want you to do. I know its a deep league with rosters, size, and prospects. I want you to go to the back of your FA lists and post a deep listing of available (available!) players (only if they are not owned already). At this point you have a couple of deadweights on your team. I've played with 20 teamers and its not easy.
If you can get by with it, I think its about time to punt this year and stash/horde young talent if any is left.
The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!

Great suggestion by the last poster. Lots of dead weight on this team that does you no good.
Guys I would drop to stash young talent for next year if it is there:
Ramon Hernandez James Loney Omar Infante Scott Rolen Jason Marquis Tom Gorzelanny John Lackey
Look real deep back there in the FA pool. We'll find you prospects worth picking up. You're not going to compete this year, and you don't want to make any of those trades (ESPECIALLY the first one, ew). Drop the crap, stop trying to compete, and just go 100% after accumulating young guys with upside.
(In reference to an Aaron Hill for David Price swap)
