Yahoo ROTO league with H2H playoffs? Is it possible?

Postby twistedude » Wed Jul 06, 2011 12:15 pm

Hi All

My league has been discussion a potential change to our format for next season. We've always been a rotisserie league and we're happy with that. But we'd like to spice up the end game a bit.

My question: would it be possible within the yahoo system to take the top 6 teams from the roto standings and have them face off against eachother in a head-to-head style playoffs and final? I think that would be very cool and exciting but not sure if it's even possible.

Thanks for your responses.

It will have to be H2H all year. You can't switch from one to the another during the year.

Try bugging Yahoo about it. Probably won't happen, but it sounds like a neat idea and I'd enjoy trying a league like that.

Not sure exactly how this would work but maybe you could run a seperate "dummy h2h league" with mostly same players and rig the last week to have the playoff teams aligned in the right spots. Don't know what the commish tools in yahoo are so maybe you could go back and bench/start certain players specific weeks to get the standings to work correctly.
Seems sort of unfair to the team leading the roto to have to go into a win or out situation, last year in 1 roto league we had 4 teams within 2 points of first on the final day of the year. It doesn't get much spicier than that

You could do it with a separate league as Fast Dogs said. The Commish would have to add the players to the teams that were in the playoffs then pair them up. That shouldn't be too hard.
