Alexi Ram and R Zimm both dropped. Who'd you take? WHIR

Postby jruffus1 » Tue Jul 05, 2011 3:48 pm

Both Ryan Zimmerman and Alexi Ramirez were dropped in my league for some odd reason. I am going to claim one of them off waivers, but who should I take? I know that Zimmerman is a better offensive player, but he's also prone to injury.

Here is my team:

C - V Martinez
1st - Votto
2nd - Pedroia
3rd - Bautista
SS - S Castro
OF - Granderson
OF - Ellsbury
OF - Werth
Util - Morse

Bench: A Soriano (dropping for one of them)

SPs:
Verlander
Kershaw
Liriano
Hellickson
Vogelsong
Cueto
Hughes

RPs:
Marmol
Storen
Bailey
Bastardo

DL: Oswalt, Putz

You have to go with Ryan Zimmerman here. He has way more upside then Alexei Ramirez.
Plus you already have Starlin Castro at SS. You could put Ryan Zimmerman at 3rd and move Bautista to OF or UTIL.

Make claims for both of them Zimmerman first and then the Missile dropping Werth and Soriano.

If your Zimmerman claim is successful then you will have Zimm at 3b and Bautista solidifying your OF for the remainder of the year. You can use Castro as trade bait to upgrade your pitching and you can then slot the Missile at SS.

Maybe a trade of Bastardo+Morse+Castro might net you Tulowitzki/Trumbo or perhaps something like Konerko/Heath Bell go for a ? Try that and see what happens.

I"d actually go for both dropping Soriano and Bastardo. Bastardo will only be the closer for another week then Madson returns.
