Votto for Lee?

Postby tommo » Tue Jun 28, 2011 9:42 pm

12 Team Head to Head Points League. Another owner is offering Cliff Lee for either Bautista or Votto. I know everyone says that you shouldn't trade hitting for pitching, but pitchers seem to be scoring significantly more in my league. My league's scoring system is a few posts down. Thanks.

My team:
C Santana, Carlos
1B Votto, Joey
2B Kendrick, Howard
3B Zimmerman, Ryan
SS Ramirez, Hanley
OF Bautista, Jose
OF Gonzalez, Carlos
OF McCutchen, Andrew
U Smith, Seth
Bench (2B) Prado, Martin
Bench (2B) Weeks, Jemile
Bench (1B) Eric Hosmer

SP Beachy, Brandon
SP Chacin, Jhoulys
SP Garcia, Jaime
SP Norris, Bud
SP Zimmermann, Jordan
RP Axford, John
Bench (SP) Marcum, Shaun
Bench (SP) Stauffer, Tim
Bench (SP) Oswalt, Roy
Bench (RP) Marmol, Carlos

Well, in points based leagues it's not always bad. If you look at AVG points per week for a player it usually gives you an idea trade value.

Votto or Bautista for Lee?

Postby tommo » Wed Jun 29, 2011 12:01 am

Can possibly bring in a guy like Morse to help fill the void if I dealt Votto I could get Morse for Oswalt. Or get the Lee owner to throw in either Butler or Dunn (and pray he comes around).

If you can get him to throw in Butler it would make the trade a lot more fair imo.

Leaning towards Votto for Lee and either Butler/Dunn. Any other opinions?

Currently proposed Oswalt for Morse. I like that trade either way as I can use him in my Utility spot. Still deciding if I want to give up Votto.

Well the Morse and Oswalt trade makes even more sense for you if you are reluctant to give up Votto .
