Need to patch some holes....WHIR

Postby Hamiltond18 » Tue Jun 28, 2011 6:29 pm

League info: 12 team, head to head, 5x5 standard scoring

I am currently in 1st place in my league and while I don't think my team is weak, I feel like some injurys are putting me in a tough spot. I have thought about punting saves and putting Wilson and Lidge on the block to see what offense I could bring to my team in a trade. What do people think about this idea? And if not this what changes would you make if any?? Thanks and as always leave a link and I will help in return....

Current roster:
Albert Pujols (DL)
Howie Kendrick

I like your team your batting is solid with pence reyes pujols zimmerman just unfortunate to get those injuries. Your SP is real good as well I guess the question you have to ask is with two RP are you having trouble winning the saves category. If I were to have closers I would typically have 4-5 to secure that saves category, but I usually punt saves and with your pitching you should be able to win either ERA or WHIP or even better win both categories as well as wins and Ks without RP. if you think your SP is strong enough to do that then I would suggest punting saves because you can get a decent amount for brian wilson.

Can you answer mine?!?! its titled 1st place but not satisfied

If you need help with offense then i certainly do think trading a guy like Wilson would be the route to go. he is definitely an elite reliever and you should have no problem getting a good bat in return. as the poster above me said, your starting pitchers are solid and you should no problem winning K's, ERA and WHIP on a weekly basis. that being said, if you don't want to lose saves then i think you should think about possibly trading Beckett, Lohse, or Cueto for some offense. your pitching staff is certainly well established and should be able to withstand the loss of one of these three.

can you help with mine?

I think you're team is really good.
I would trade lidge, wilson, polanco, and/or pujols. Get two solid closers and a good first baseman. Maybe even someone like carlos pena might even be in the free agency.
Just my thoughts.
