Can I trade Bumgarner after tonights awesome start?

Postby eromano33 » Sun Jun 26, 2011 11:53 pm

Obviously, Bumgarner was awesome tonight. He has been outstanding in 11 out of his last 12 starts.
I was planning on moving him yesterday, but this was his best start of the season, and it was beastly- moved me ahead in 2 key categories for the week, making up for bombing my ERA and WHIP earlier in the week.
The trade I had planed on doing was
I give:
Bumgarner
Hosmer
Salas
I get:
Berkman
My choice of Ogando or Morrow

14 team, h2h, 5x5 non keeper.
My team currently:
C: Victor Martinez
1B: Eric Hosmer
2B: Robinson Cano
SS: Hanley Ramirez
3B: Pablo Sandoval
OF: Nelson Cruz
OF: Andrew McCutchen
OF: Michael Bourn
UTIL: Brett Gardner
UTIL: Alex Rios
BN: Adam Dunn
BN: MIke Moustakas
SP: Yovani Gallardo
SP: Ubaldo Jimenez
RP: Jordan Walden
RP: Sergio Santos
P: Fernando Salas
P: Mike Adams
P: Madison Bumgarner
P: Max Scherzer
BN: Brandon Beachy
BN: Bud Norris
BN: Roy Oswalt (DL)
DL: Tommy Hanson I need to make a spot to activate hanson on tuesday.

Help!

I actually like the deal. Berkman is a HUGE upgrade from Hosmer, and I think your biggest loss in the deal is Salas. The saves deficiency should get covered after the Padres trade Heath Bell and Adams begins closing. I think you will end up with way more power. Also, I'd go with Ogando. He isn't pitching in the AL East and the Rangers will win a lot of games.

You're getting a bat but I don't like either pitcher you're getting in return. Ogando is showing that he hasn't pitched that many innings in a season and they're already talking about skipping starts, and it's not even the All-Star break yet, and Morrow might give you K's, but he's gonna kill you in the other stats.

I love the bat that you get in return for this trade. But as for the pitching, I'm not a huge fan. As a Blue Jay fan, Morrow has been playing pretty bad this season.

good luck :)

I know. Its basically a question of is the pitching downgrade worth it to get the upgrade at first.
