Is Jurrjens being sold too high?

Postby pkeltner » Sun Jun 26, 2011 1:38 pm

I've got a trade being proposed to me: my Brandon Phillips for their Jair Jurrjens. What I can't decide is if Jurrjens is overrated/being sold too high. The league is a rotisserie with the standard 10 categories, and I am last in era and whip and first in runs and rbis.

My roster:
C victor Martinez
1b Joey votto
2b brandon Phillips
3b Adrian beltre
Ci Justin smoak
Mi neil walker
Of Matt Holliday, Michael morse, Corey hart, Brennan boesch, Vladimir Guerrero
Util Carlos lee
Bn jemile weeks, Ryan Ludwick

Sp Matt Cain, Trevor Cahill, Justin masterson, Jeremy hellickson, Jonathon Norse, Chris narveson
Rp Jose valverde, Leo Nunez, Fernando salas, mike Adams

I see jurrjens as a sell high candidate and indeed he is doing that. I like him, don't get me wrong. But I'd want a more proven guy who gets ks if I was giving up an elite 2B.

I'd keep Phillps- Jurrjens is great but doesn't get enough Ks. I also wouldn't necessarily trust Weeks to be your full time 2b just yet while you have one of the best in phillips already.
