"Necessary" Stud SP Exchange

I am in a weekly league and am very concerned regarding news that Jon Lester will be skipped in the SP rotation by year's end.

I offered my Lester and Beltran (5th outfielder) for Lincecum and he accepted right away.

Lester has honestly irked me a bit this year with the control issues and I am hoping for a playoff-ready team. Did I overreact to the early news about Lester? I hope Lincecum does not also get rested towards year's end, he's also a workhorse.

I'm quite certain that Lester will turn things around and have a solid second half, but the fact that you got Lincecum in exchange isn't bad. Both haven't been up to their usual stellar ways so far this year, but neither has been bad. Beltran is having a good year, but he's aging and an injury risk ... That being said, I think you may have jumped the gun a wee bit on this trade, but you didn't turn around and shoot yourself in the foot with it either.

May have panicked a bit here. Beltran has been playing solid, and your OF with Pence being gimpy and Crawford with his injury and not exactly lighting it up, Beltran provided depth.

Thanks...I didn't feel great about making this trade. I felt like I may have panicked a bit from a report early this week that Lester would be rested come playoff time but with the status of the Red Sox pitching I don't know if that will happen. I guess I played a hunch on this one. I've been watching Lester a lot this year and he makes me nervous. Lincecum's a proven guy who I feel a tad better with come August/September. Here's to hoping.

I think you are ok here. Lincecum is in the top 5 no question and Lester really hasn't been as good as advertised. Beltran has hit fairly well but he hasn't been THAT good and the injury bug is always lurking. I wouldn't say you took this guy to the cleaners, but I don't hate the deal either.
