Should I drop Seth Smith or Rizzo for Alex Rios or Hafner? Rios looks like he is finally starting to heat up so I was just wondering if I should go ahead and grab him off the FA before anyone else does. Or should I grab Hafner who has been steady all season?
Don't drop Seth Smith whatsoever, right now he's hotter than almost anyone in the league. He's also only 28, and since you're in a keeper, I can really see him coming up big throughout the next few seasons for you.
Rios and Hafner are both getting older and on their ways out of this league. I don't see why you would want to drop 2 young, great prospects for two old players who played DECENT in the year's past. Keep both of them.
yeah, since it is a keeper, dont do it, but keep an eye on hafner/smith, because smith can cool off and hafner is a great player trying to rebound from frequent injuries
thnx for the help on mine. I personally really like Hafner, but since It's a keep I would keep those 2. However, if you think a little extrra power can help you win, I'd add him for Rizzo. I wouldn't even consider Rios at the moment.
I don't know that dropping Smith/Rizzo for Rios is a bad option. People always read far too much into the keeper aspect of a question like this, but Rios could end up being a great keeper too. Sure, he has been crap this season, but he is starting to hit the ball a bit. If he has a solid 2nd half, he could have turned the corner and NEXT season he could be back to the solid player we have seen the last few seasons. I would personally drop Smith for him, but I could see letting Rizzo go as well, he is still not ready to excel at the major league level, and playing in SD isn't exactly going to expedite that readiness.
