Acquiring Hamels WHIR if I can...

10 x 10 yahoo roto keeper -- 6 x 6, with whip and ops.

My hitting is deadly dominant -- leading 4 cats and second in the other 2.....but my pitching, particularly my starting, isn't quite so strong. Here's my lineup:

c - santana (unkeepable)
1b - a gon
2b - utley
ss - reyes (unkeepable)
3b - a rod
lf - lind
cf - mccutchen
rf - bruce
util - konerko

bn of - morse
bn ss - alcides escobar
bn C - m montero
dl 3b - alverez

sp - sabathia

sp - beckett (unkeepable)
rp - valverde
rp - axford
rp - kimbrel
p - capps
p - javy guerra

bn rp - rauch
bn sp - bedard
dl sp - brett anderson

So, given the above team --- do you think I need to pay for an elite starter? I got 2 seperate cole hamels offers -- one straight up for lind, and one of hamels/sandoval for arod. We keep 3 batters and pitchers for as long as we want, and 2 each for just next season.

I would defintely look to improve and get an ELITE starter. Your OF is solid, and can afford to move Lind (or morse......sell while he is HOT). I would defintely shop around and see what the best arms that people are willing to depart with.

I would sell off Lind for Hamels in a heartbeat. Hamels is a top 10 pitcher, Lind is good but he is not elite, and you need the SP help. Just click accept on that one. The Sandoval deal isn't bad either, the guy clearly wants Hamels gone for some reason. I would almost say the 2nd deal is better getting Sandoval in addition to Hamels but you have Morse on the bench so sliding him in for Lind and simply dropping Hamels into the rotation looks like the best move to me.

Thanks guys.... Any other views? Should I aim higher for an SP? Try to deal someone other then lind? Perhaps konerko? Of the two offers, I'm leaning toward the lind one - if only because I'd rather swap in morse at lf then panda at 3b.

I'd take Hamels for Adam Lind and start Morse. Hamels is a top 10 pitcher now.

Hamels is a stud. I drafted him in the 4th round of my league with the prediction I had that he will win the Cy young this year. Hamels is peaking. He is a dominant Ace.!! Go get him!! He helps is all categories

Take the Hamels and Lind trade for sure. You are getting the better deal easily.

But I do like both trades and would accept either of them.
