I can't make his counter work. He said we were close on my initial offer, but he has taken several steps from it.
I would like to focus simply on getting Pujols and Ubaldo.

This is a tough one. You are losing Hamilton anyway and I personally I would rather have Bruce. But the prince fielder thing is what has me on the fence. When does Pujols expire for other team?

Yeah definitely dont accept the counter-offer, you are losing too much.

I don't like either offer, honestly. In a keeper, it may turn out that Bruce is the best player in that deal over the next few years. (Not saying that WILL happen, but saying it's not inconceivable -- and you need Pujols to return from injury with a vengeance for it to be worthwhile.)

I don't like either offer bc I feel he wins in both and you'd be losing a lot. Looking at both rosters, he looks to be more in need than you. I would sit tight for now.

I'd certainly welcome more input. Including what is reasonable in getting Pujols minus his six weeks

Everyone is trying to buy Pujols low. Teams that had him waited out his slow start and will wait this out. I'm really not sure I would want Pujols after he comes back from the injury. It's his left arm, and he puts a lot of torque on that arm.... I really don't see him coming back where he was this year. I would personally stay away from him because it's going to cost you and I'm thinking it's not gonna be worth it.
