Who would you rather have for the rest of the year?
Just a quick poll

Boesch. I've had both this year, and although Joyce had a hotter streak Boesch plays on the better offense and seems to be just starting to hit well. Compared to Joyce, Boesch has been raising his average whereas Matt has dropped.
Go with the hot hand in Boesch. Joyce was hurting and hasn't picked it up since getting his cortisone in the shoulder. I don't trust him to perform for the season. (I dropped him last week.)

Brennan Boesch, definitely. He's been on fire, especially in June. Boesch is great hitter when it comes to lefties and he's an everyday player in the Detroit line-up I think he's a better option than Joyce because Joyce hasn't been the same for weeks due to injuries and he's in a big slump of now. So just take advantage of Boesch's hot bat while you can.

Boesch. I had Raburn at the beginning of the year and Boesch out produced Raburn. I had to drop Raburn because of it so I think Boesch is better. Especially looking at his day to day stats.

rjforlife wrote:Wow you guys jumped off the Joyce train quick and all ran to Boesch. You seem to forget he hit under .200 for May. I would rather have Joyce, who is awesome when he is hot, and at least tolerable when not. Boesch is not reliable and he won't steal much and his power is only so-so. I don't hate either but in a pinch I'd roll with Joyce.
I've had both this year.
I rode Joyce while he was hot. I'm riding Boesch while he's hot. And, I'll ride whoever is after him. As far as the rest of the year is concerned, I like Boesch's team better in terms of offense. I also am concerned that Matt Joyce was having shoulder troubles that didn't go away immediately after a cortisone shot.
I'm a Rays fan. I love Joyce. I just would take Boesch if I had to pick one right now.
