Injury Report
Preseason Outlook
"Diamondbacks 2B Kelly Johnson remained on the bench for most of Sunday's contest against the White Sox. Johnson, who was batting just .182 during June entering the contest, was given a few days off to clear his head, according to manager Kirk Gibson. "He struggled early, got on track and I told you guys when he came out of it before, I saw he wasn't hitting extra as much," Gibson told MLB.com. "I just sensed it was going the other way." Ryan Roberts replaced him at 2B, although Johnson did pinch-hit in the eighth inning but grounded out in his lone at-bat.

Fantasy Analysis
Johnson's struggles at the plate have been well documented this season and Gibson wanted to give him a few days off to clear his head. However, he is expected to be back in the lineup for the start of Fantasy Week 12 (June 20-26). Still, Johnson has not done well in years past during interleague play. The 28-year-old is batting just .213 during contests against teams from the American League to go along with six home runs and 32 RBI over 69 career games. While Johnson showed some signs of breaking out of his skid back in May, he is once again struggling at the plate and has only recorded four hits over his last 25 at-bats (.160). Fantasy owners may want to consider sitting Johnson down until he starts hitting again. "
