Dump Dunn and Rios? WHIR

10 team H2H weekly changes, standard 5x5.

Been offered Scherzer-$16 and Domonic Brown- $5 for my Dunn-$25 and Rios- $19.

Do I take it? I was thinking maybe counter for Brown-$5 and Zimmerman-$5? Would that be a good deal? Any other options that seem better and possibly accepted? This is year one of a lifeteam keeper, you can keep 6 and the price goes up 20% each year. I am in first by a decent margin, his team being in 2nd on the strength of a ridiculous pitching staff.

Thanks for helping on mine and interesting question. I used to own Dunn and Rios and traded Dunn/Oswalt for Konerko out of desperation but so far I'm happy with the trade (and I needed an elite 1B). Rios is still residing on my bench.

So up to your question... What is your need? It seems to me you're getting marginal players back, whereas you don't really have a need for them. Dunn and Rios very well might heat up (Rios is showing signs of life). I would reject the trade or target a specific need.

Based on the rules of your league I can see why you would dump both of them.

Dunn - Is not gonna produce much this year. He's out of shape and didn't commit to an offseason program, costing him at 32.

Rios - Has been unlucky and is a streaky hitter to begin with. He seems to be showing signs of life and should begin to produce for the remainder of the year. At least I hope as an owner.

I would definitely dump Dunn as he's not performing this year and will not be worth the price of admission next year. Rios on the other hand will produce something this year, but probably won't be worth the price of admission next year. So I would definitely try and move them. Zimmerman and Brown would be favored over the Scherzer/Brown option.

At first I thought you had to make this trade, but thinking about it I'm not sure. You've held on to Rios and Dunn this long and you're in first place. They can't do any worse than they have, can they? Unless you don't really feel you have 6 good keepers at reasonable prices, then I would just stand pat.

to me it seems like selling low. I agree with above posts that Dunn has packed it in, he HATES DHing...abhors it. all the Nats guys have been on local DC radio saying how Dunner will never be happy just hitting. that said, I own both Scherzer & Dom Brown and dont love either of them.

Brown started really hot, but seems pitchers have figured him out as hes hit like .175 this month. Scherzer can be amazing one day, then walk 4 guys and barely last 5 innings the next. Inconsistency is his middle name.

all that said...you would be going younger and at good prices...so Id prob do it. Browns $5 will certainly help your drafting next yr.
