Take this Votto Deal? WHIR

Postby sigriffey » Sat Jun 18, 2011 7:35 pm

The extra year of Votto probably puts that end of the deal on the winning side. He's also the best player in the bunch.

Votto > Cargo
Bruce and McCutchen essentially a push
Hosmer > Ackley
Cueto and Wandy essentially a push

Pretty even deal, I'd say.

I would sub a SP in place of Bruce.
You are losing 3 bats, since you start so many UT.
You already have Gordon playing, (yuck).

I can live with front end of deal, but the back end gives me a bad enough taste that I think you need to talk this out some more. Good luck.

I like the deal, but you're gonna be thin in the OF. I think the guys you're getting will slightly outproduce the guys your trading. You already have little depth on the bench, but this will limit your flexibility some too. I think I'd still do it though.

Oh well, I proposed it and he rejected it. Odd since the deal was his idea yesterday and Votto and McCutchen went a combined 0-8...

I might be able to move Hosmer and Felix for Adrian Gonzalez in a deal with a different team.

You'd still have 2 aces on your staff and could use the freed roster slot to add another SP based on matchups. I like this trade.
