I feel as though I gave up a lot of power but both of those guys should kill my AVG with around .240-.260 marks at years end. I replaced with more SBs and AVG. I am a bit strapped for power now but I can ride hot guys from the FA pool or always deal one of my now 4 aces for a big bat.
I think you can get much much better with Bruce+Young. Find a guy desperate for power and try to use those two to pull a Braun or Reyes, or Ellsbury+X or Bourn+X.
I think you could definitely get a better package in return for Bruce and Young. Your situation makes it certainly a tempting deal since you'd obviously get a big boost in SB and avg, but I think you'd be giving up way too many home runs. After this trade, you really won't have much power at all. I'd try to target one top tier player, either a pitcher or hitter. I'm sure there are plenty of teams who would like to have one or both of Bruce and Young so I would set my sights a little higher.
However, if you find that no one is biting, I wouldn't be that opposed to taking this trade. Just I'd be concerned about your home run hitters after this trade.
Not so sure. Bruce might be the best player in the deal, but I like Pence over Young and Kennedy FAR better than Collmenter. Kennedy went in the middle rounds of drafts, but he's providing ace numbers and should continue to do so in the NL West. Collmenter is dead weight, IMO.
If it was the Ichiro from 2 or 3 years ago I'd say do it but I'm not a big fan of him this year. He may still hit .300 but no longer is he a .330 hitter that scores a ton of runs. I'd say try and target Ellsbury Or McCutchen
Raise your sights.... I think there is somethign better out there with that kind of bear bait. Land yourself something to put on your trophy wall. Pass this and wait. Good luck.
