Kaz probably has the better numbers by years end, but it's hard not to like Crosby at least a little after his spring. He jacked another 2 HR's yesterday with 5 RBI.
If I was told last year I'd have 2 rookies competing for my SS position, I'd have probably panicked. I don't think you need to panic, and you probably made a bit of a coup waiting late and getting some decent options at SS.

Actually, I know nothing about crosby so i cant really compare him to Matsui, but Matsui is a lot more experienced. He has played Japanese ball, as well as the Olympics, as well as against the MLB all stars on their tour of japan. What has crosby done? 2 home runs in a pre season game isnt really that impressive is it?
While I am not at all high on Matsui and think he will really disappoint the people who are project .300 30/30, a key thing to remember about Crosby is that SBs you saw in the minors will probably not materialize with Oakland's Billyball approach.
That being said, the ceiling for Crosby is still much higher--he is the better pick for the long-term and probably a better value for this season--he went for $6 (to me) in my auction vice $21 for Matsui. I would rather have Crosby + mid-tier closer (for example) than Matsui.

Crosby's now had 2 games w/ 2 homeruns. I think he'll be solid starting this year, but Matsui will probably outperform him w/ a few more SB's and maybe a better avg. (but judging by this spring maybe not).

Yeah, Matsui didn't deserve Rookie of the Year - so its only fitting that he DIDN'T get it. Angel Berroa did.

I have Crosby in one league and Matsui in the other. In both leagues, I consider them my weakest position, so I should be fine.
Can we really expect a 20/20 season from Matsui?
Are 20 HRs too much ask from Crosby? I'm thinking 15.
Great point about Hideki Matsui not winning the Rookie of the Year; but since they gave it to Nomo, Ichiro, and Sasaki in the past, stiffing Matui was wrong.
