Did you ever think a New York baseball star would become underrated? Was it even possible? I kinda just figured that every baller from Gotham would automatically be ranked in the Top 10 or, worst, 15 of his position annually. Barring the odd exception of Mel Rojas, Eric Duncan, or Rey Ordonez, of course. But in today’s world– a world in which Major League scouts recently proclaimed Jimmy Rollins and Derek Jeter, among 8 other shortstops, to be better than Jose Reyes– we’ve arrived at such a scenario.

The guy is very much still an elite player. Us fans seem to forget the affect of injuries and the fact that he is still relatively young. We saw what he did before and there is a reason why he is a perennial first round pick in most to all fantasy leagues. So valuable on many levels and sure maybe he's been underrated this year but once his final stats come in looking similar to years before. There won't be any argument anymore.
