Bruce for Greinke trade

Postby thadoggpound » Thu Jun 16, 2011 2:53 pm

Would you trade Bruce for Greinke?

I also have Kemp, Hart, Victorino, Adam Jones, and I spot start Michael Bourn for addt'l steals.

I have Price, Lee, Hanson, and Cahill (who has hurt me)

You can get a better pitcher. I traded Jay Bruce for Felix Hernandez straight up.

Ok, so what about going for a closer too, like Madson?
I've got Nunez, Valverde, and Santos. That would give me a lot of closers, but possibly 2 more points, it's a 3 way at the top of Saves.

Thats an intriguing trade, if you really need another stud starting pitcher then pull the trigger. However, Bruce's price rag is very high right now and i'd shop him a bit more to see if you can get someone better. Greinke is obviously very good, but Bruce is ridicoulis this year. Same with Kemp which makes Jay expendable. Someone said they got Kiing Felix straight up?

That's right. I shopped Bruce to a bunch of teams in my league for elite pitchers and home slice accepted. I almost creamed myself.

Try for more than Grenkie. i wouldn't do it if madson was added because i honestly don't believe Madson has the closer job secured, A couple of mess ups and Contreras/Lidge will be there to take it right from him

I'd agree with everyone else, aim higher.

I would aim higher, but if you are unable to get them, and you need pitching, I don't think it's a bad trade. Greinke, once healthy, can be dominant for the Brewers.
