E.Longoria and N.Morgan for K.Johnson and C.Rasmus

Postby oleredb » Tue Jun 14, 2011 7:05 pm

The team with Evan Longoria and Nyjer Morgan proposed the trade for Kelly Johnson and Colby Rasmus in a 20 team h2h points dynasty league with no contracts. There are 15 keepers from year to year. The Rosters are C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, RF, U, 4-SP, 3-RP and 9-BN.

The team with Longoria has a record of 0-10 (20th place). The team with Rasmus has a record of 5-5 (10th place). Eight teams make the playoffs.

Longoria had been advertised on the league message board for a week before this trade was proposed.

The two teams made one trade last season, Jered Weaver for Kevin Youkilis (Youk was on the DL at the time) and the team that received Weaver finished in 3rd place. Offers for Youk were solicited on the message board before the trade. The player offering Weaver is a Red Sox fan.

Youkilis will be the 3B with Hosmer taking over 1B for the team trading away Longoria. Valencia is the third baseman for the team receiving Longoria and Morgan will be the starting CF (The second team traded away S. Rolen in the preseason). The second team has Jed Lowrie to start at 2B, but has Brett Lawrie and J. Kipnis on the bench.

Scoring:
single=1, double=2, triple=3, HR=4, total bases=1, walks=0.5, runs=1, RBI=1, SB=1, K=-0.5, hit by pitch=0.5, sacrifice=0.5, caught stealing=-0.5, GIDP=-0.5, assists=0.1, errors=-0.2 and double plays turned=0.1

What are your comments on the trade?

Does anyone need more info or did I give too much the first time?

Not really sure what you're wanting to know. But the trade obviously fills needs for both teams.

Do you see any problems with the trade?

Is either side giving to little or too much?

I am involved in the trade and need some outside opinions before I respond to a couple of guys who are ticked off by the trade.

Fortunately I am not the LM in this league.

Well, Longoria is the best player in the deal. The other team obviously needed a 2B, and I believe, even though I'm not a Rasmus fan, is a pretty big upgrade over Morgan. You will always have people in a league that will see problems with every trade. Most of the time it's jealousy. Longoria was obviously out there for anyone to grab and no one did. It might help to post rosters, but I'm not seeing anything here that is out and out wrong. Of course I would rather have the longoria side because he is the best player in the deal, but it's not like that team didn't get a couple good players in return. I might have wanted a little more, but it's not totally off base.
