13 team, NL only, 4x4 roto style, keeper league currently in sixth place with approx 60 points but 43 points are from my offense. If my pitching can pick it up I can win this league. I am torn between waiting to see if my staff turns it around or making a trade. A guy with some pitching and out of race wants keepers and has eyed up Chris B Young on my team. He said that I can pick two pitchers out of Ted Lilly, Edinson Volquez, Jason Hammel, and Daniel Hudson. He may also throw in Chris Heisy. Also the OF that he is willing to toss back to me is Brad Hawpe and I would toss him Wilton Lopez to take up a roster spot.
So, first of all, should I make a trade as the above? Second if so which two pitchers should I pick? I was thinking of something like Lilly, Hudson, Heisy, Hawpe for Young and Lopez? Also, he said he would be willing to give me more if we talked about Bourn. He doesn't have any other pitchers that I would be interested in but he may give me 3 guys instead of two. But, Bourn I traded for earlier in the year and he has single handedly moved me up in the standings with his speed.
Thoughts? Sorry for the long post. And leave your links. I will definitely help out.
Boy, if you could translate your pitching stats from last year to this you would be sitting pretty. I would go with Hudson and Lilly... I would have gone with Volquez but their upcoming schedule in inter-league play goes to the AL East...... which could be brutal.
I know, I am just not sure if I want Lilly or Volquez. Part of me thinks Volquez will turn it around and he has a great K rate. But LIlly tends to be more consistent. Let me know what you think. Hudson, Heisy, Volquez or Lilly and Hawpe for Lopez and Young. What do you guys think?
Millhouse wrote:thanks for mine. i like hudson and volquez. yeah, lilly is more consistent, but volq has higher ceiling right now, i think, esp in K's.
Have to agree with Millhouse here. I like Hudson the most out of all of them, and I would go with Volquez over Lilly mainly because of Volquez's K rate.
