TULO and HALLADAY Trade WHIR

Postby aqr135 » Mon Jun 13, 2011 2:26 pm

I offered this trade:
give: justin upton, ricky nolasco, jason vargas
receive: roy halladay

He countered:
give: troy tulowitzki, ricky nolasco, jason vargas
receive: roy halladay

I feel I really need a front-line starter, and Halladay is the definition. I'm considering the deal, but I feel like Tulo, Nolasco, and Vargas might be a little much to give up, especially because I will have to pick up a SS off the waiver wire. He has Starlin Castro...I'm thinking of countering with tulo, nolasco, vargas for halladay, castro.

What do you think?? WHIR

You definitely need some pitching....... I don't like giving up Tolowitzki though. I think you might be able to get a notch under Halladay and not have to give him up. I don't really think Castro will make up for it.

I dont like you having to give up Tulo in this trade, you are just not getting enough in return. I would just keep shopping around for another top-tier SP and offer Upton/Nolasco/Vargas and someone should accept. Look for a team that has a top-tier SP but needs more pitching help and try to work a deal out with them.

thanks for the help with mine

keep tulo. try first to package morneau & e.g. Nolasco for a P upgrade. check league rosters, find who needs 1B/CI help and who might still think Morneau has something left this year (I don't but may remember his MVP year).

OR, i bet you could land a Lester/Hanson type with Upton and Nolasco. BUT, who would you then slide into OF spot if you did that?

Keep Tulo here. That is too much to give up for Halladay. Maybe Tulo straight up for Halladay but not a 3 for 1.

please help

I would be more inclined to offer up Upton for a pitcher not named Halladay. Keep Tulo, he's notoriously huge in the 2nd half.
