Rizzo/Stanton FOR Moustakas/Castro

In a head to head 8 player keeper league would you pull the trigger on this?

Mike Moustakas


Here's the deal, in out league we aren't allowed to keep guys we picked up off
free agency during that season, you can only keep player that you drafted or you
got in a trade from another team. Me and the owner I'm trading with both picked
up Rizzo and Moustakas. So if we don't do this trade I won't be able to keep
Rizzo at the end of the year and he won't be able to keep Moustakas. If we do
then I'd be able to keep Moustakas...comprende?

Right now i only have 7 worthy keepers...doin this trade and takin out Stanton
and adding Castro and Moustakas would put me right a 8 for the end of the season

I guess it just comes down to keeping Moustakas. If he does so/so would you still keep him? If Stanton keeps on doing what he's doing I would assume you would keep him. Knowing you wouldn't be keeping Reynolds at 3B but you do have Wright. If Moustakas lives up to the hype, I guess he would be comparable to Stanton. So then it comes down to needs. In that case I'm not seeing this filling a need for you unless you didn't plan on keeping Wright.

well if i trade for moustakas more then likely i will be keeping him....so then i can deal david wright for a pitcher or maybe another position of need

There's no way I'm giving up Stanton in this trade. If he wants to trade keepers than give him Rizzo for Moustakas. Hold on to Stanton.

Just tell him what you posted on here, you can't keep moustakas so you might as well get Rizzo for him.

just trade him rizzo for moustakas straightup. right now they're worth about the same value (i.e. they've got pedigrees, rizzo had better minor league #s this year, and whilst rizzo has a quick HR and a bunch of walks in the majors, moustakas hasn't had time to do much yet) cuz this way you can both keep them and that's a totally fair trade IMO, especially if you want moustakas to keep.

HOWEVER, trading stanton for starlin just so you can keep moustakas? dude, don't do that. unless starlin can somehow cycle up and develop a 20HR bat, he isn't going to be that valuable... his highest fantasy value was early in the year when he was hitting .330+ and people thought he'd be worth something so they'd give up someone with actual fantasy value for him... but like, don't give up stanton, especially if you're going to keep him! stanton's best days are ahead of him, and as he develops his hitting technique to where he can hit .280-.300, combine that with his raw power and you're looking at a beast.... stanton could be a perennial 35+ HR guy with 100+ RBIs, and if he hits like .290 or .300 he's going to be a better hitter to the point where he could maximize his power... then WATCH OUT!!!!!!!

so dont do that.... counter w/ rizzo for moustakas cuz that's totally fair... both are blue chip prospects, both came up at the same time, both have the same realistic ceilings and floors, and both of them won't be kept unless you trade for them. IMHO, the guy wanting mike stanton for starlin castro to do that is trying to fleece you.

no way, id just do rizzo for moustakas, but stanton's more valuable than that.

instead of stubbs it might be LoMo or Ethier....one of those 3 of's w/ rizzo

I don't plan on keeping stubbs so would you guys pull this deal? The dudes not gonna do Rizzo for Mous straight up
