Cueto for Werth? (WHIR)

Postby jpbusta » Sat Jun 11, 2011 9:03 am

This other manager is desperate for some pitching and I am stacked in SPs.

He offered me Werth for my Cueto and he is also willing to take Bedard.

I like Cueto over Bedard just because Bedard's arm is getting ready to fall off and he pitches for the Mariners. :-P

Should I trade away Cueto or Bedard for Werth?

Werth has been disappointing but with Zimmerman returning soon he might actually start to produce.

Werth has been very up and down this season, with the downs being worse than the ups. But like you said, when Zimmerman comes back he could start to pick it up. I would swap Bedard instead of Cueto, due to age, injury concerns, and win potential. Cincy scores runs, Seattle doesn't, and it's that simple. I think you are getting a good price for Bedard and I would take the shot here, you won't get any more for him.

Yeah, I would trade Bedard for Werth in a heartbeat. Would do it for Cueto too, but I'd rather have him than Bedard, who is bound to get hurt sooner rather than later.

Getting Werth for Bedard is a good deal, I traded for Werth also and agree he will pick it up once Zim gets back. With Morse bashing and Zim in the lineup Werth will see pitches to hit and should start to pick it up
