My Josh Johnson / Dee Gordon for Gallardo / Utley
5X5 Roto - Catagories ERA/WHIP/K/QS/S - OBP/R/HR/RBI/S Keeper (keep 6)
Even though it is a keeper league I'm trying to win this year, do you think this deal is worth it and why?
I am very close to the lead in ERA and Whip and K, and leading in QS, I am up in steals by 4 and in the middle of the pack in most other batting stats.
Thanks total WHIR

I think its a good deal - though Johnson may come back and lead the league in WHIP and ERA. you get Utley fresh off his injury and everyone is high on Gordon but he won't contribute substantially this year unless someone goes down for the season. Just looking quickly I see plenty of guys worth keeping so I don't think you would be mortgaging your future - how many do you keep?

Yeah, I would do this....as much as I love JJ, who knows how much you'll get from him ROS. Gallardo and Chase make for a pretty solid return, provided Utley can stay healthy.

given that your leading in pitcing and need batting help, Utley will give you a surge in that catagory and if you dont plan on keeping jj anyway for next year I would do it... Deal Gordon while you can, once Furcal gets back no telling how much playing time Dee will get...
Thanks for the help with mine

I like it. And it's not like Gallardo is a slouch so good all around.

Great deal for you. Trading a player you likely picked up in the last week for a stud like Utley should help the offense if he can stay healthy. JJ is obviously more proven as a dominant pitcher, but Gallardo has put together a nice run of starts lately and is settling in. I think he will be a stud over the 2nd half.
