Capped Innings Strategy Help

Postby Rmbxr9 » Fri Jun 10, 2011 5:52 pm

18 Teams, Points
No ERA or WHIP
Wins, Losses, Ks, BBs, SV, BLSV, HLD, CG

Alright, so I'm projecting way over my 1,450 Innings Limit.
I'm projecting +180

So my overall question is, does it really matter when you use your innings as long as you use them well? I have a ton more wins than anyone else in my league.
610 Points in "Wins", and the next best guy has 450 "Wins" Points.

I stream a lot of guys with good matchups, 1% owned guys like Z.Duke vs SD, Wakefield vs. Cubs, stuff like.
So I use up innings, but I'm still getting points.

The other thing is, I really only have 2 guys who "Start every game" Guys. So I'm not taking away innings in August from 4-5 Halladays and Lincecums.

So does it matter when you use them? People give me crap for theoretically having no pitching in August (Though I am slowing down)
You're no more likely to get a win in August than you are in April/May, so what's the difference?

Theoretically, if you have a dynamite matchup, it doesn't matter when you use them. However, if you are going to go over, I would make sure to only use DYNAMITE matchups as opposed to GOOD matchups.

So I would continue to stream pitchers, but be more discerning as to what constitutes a worthwhile matchup.
