Trade away Felix? WHIR

Postby Urban Cohorts » Fri Jun 10, 2011 4:10 pm

I am in a H2H, 5x5, 28 Roster Keeper League (8 Players). We also use extra CI/MI/OF.

I was offered: M Latos SP, Jon Sanchez SP, B Morrow SP, and D Jeter SS for my Felix Hernandez SP + Draft picks

Hernandez would be replaced by Latos. Sanchez and Morrow would replace J Lackey and R Wolf/M Buehrle, Jeter would replace C Allen as MI/DH.

I am trying to win this year and my team could use extra Wins, K's, SB, and AVG (Jeter hitting .270 would help me). Hernandez is one of the best SP in baseball, so am I getting enough in this trade? I really like how Latos and Sanchez will be pitching in the NL West come playoff time too.

All comments appreciated. WHIR!

I like the overall SP upgrades, but I think Allen to Jeter is a downgrade, except for Runs Scored.

I think I'd ask for a better/more usable hitter than Jeter, or not really give much in the form of draft picks, but I do like this deal for you with one of those tweaks or the other ;-D

Take a look at mine?

Yeah if he can give you a better hitter then Jeter in this trade then this should def improve your chances on winning this season. I really like this trade for you as long as you aren't giving away too many high draft picks.

You are getting a lot of numbers in the deal, but I don't like 4-1 deals where you lose the best player. Is there any way you can trim it down to get more value in less players? Also, Felix is studly beyond understanding in a keeper, I don't know why you'd want to deal him for anything less than a top offensive player.

If he threw in Ichiro instead of Jeter, would that deal be better? Or is Ichiro in a funk he won't get out of?

Again, could use the extra SB/AVG.

Thanks for all the help thus far!
