My Granderson for his Dunn & Uggla

Postby BALCO All-Stars » Thu Jun 09, 2011 7:55 pm

I could use the power (next to last) and am only middle of the pack in RBIs but overall my team is doing well. I liked all 3 of these guys going into the year but only my Granderson has panned out...but this would be a huge sell high buy low, but I would be taking a chance on Dunn and/or Uggla turning it around. But, if this would be a fair offer (IMO) if only ONE of them turned it around, but golden if both turned it around...thoughts?

I like it. Especially with Pedroia looking like he'll miss time. I agree with your analysis - if either one turns it around, it's an even trade and if they both do, you're golden. You also don't have to endure all the terrible stats they've put up so far.

Losing Granderson is a blow, because his power is legit, but you're well covered at OF. I like this deal a lot - makes a ton of sense.

Pedroia is expected to be in the lineup Friday

Whoops, never mind. I read that Yahoo article but I guess they jumped the gun. Still, it's not like he was lighting the league on fire. I still say it's a good deal.

This is a tough call to me.

Uggla has been suspect for a while, he was never this good in the minors. His high K total.

Dunn on the other hand is a more proven commodity, and you could bench Carlos Lee, not play him so often.

I think Granderson's breakout is for real. He has been at least respectible against LHP, his problem up to now.

I give it a mild thumbs up, only becuase you got Holiday on your DL, OF easier to pickup, and Dunn will have a nice hot streak for you.

Please answer mine. viewtopic.php?t=432939

Is this roto or H2H?

I don't think I could risk it in roto. 1 of those guys kills your BA, having both you'd be destroyed.

it's roto. it's not like Granderson is a stud in BA (down to .265), but I see your point. Dunn is a .250 or so hitter and Uggla traditionally is around .240. I lead the league at .291 right now, but yes, they would suck away my AVG. If I did the trade, I would probably start Dunn and let Uggla ride the bench until Uggla hopefully figures it out. When Holliday comes back, I'd let Dunn ride the bench (unless he heats up). So it's not like I need to insert both of these guys into my lineup and play them both everyday. Plus I'd like to sell high on Granderson as I thought he would be solid this year, but this is beyond expectations and a good time to sell (for the right price anyway).
