"Red Sox manager Terry Francona expects Pedroia (knee) to return for Friday's game, reports the Boston Herald. Pedroia is getting his knee examined Thursday.

"He has been dealing with pain in his right knee since last season, likely due to worn cartilage, and the pain just happened to be peaking in severity which necessitated the checkup. It is good that the team doesn't sound too worried, but we will wait until the doctor has his say before sharing their optimism."

I really hope he doesn't go on the DL. I already lead the league with most players on the DL. This is my infield right now

1B - Adam Lind: Was on the 15 day DL
2B - Dustin Pedroia: Chance of going on DL
SS - Hanley Ramirez: Currently on the DL
3B - Ryan Zimmerman: Currently on DL

It has been a crazy day with Pedroia. It sounded like this morning he was going to be out at least a month and I was deciding on what to do and now they say it's just a bruise and he'll be back tomorrow. Very interesting, hope it doesn't bother him too much.
