Drop Soriano to stash Lawrie? WHIR

Postby jruffus1 » Thu Jun 09, 2011 4:28 pm

12-team NON-Keeper league... I currently own Rizzo and want to see how he performs. If he seems as if he will take awhile to adjust, I could simply drop him. BUT, worst case scenario, I could either keep Soriano or stash Lawrie.

Would you drop Soriano to stash Lawrie if that's what it came down to?

C - V Martinez
1st - Votto
2nd - Pedroia (DL?) R Roberts
3rd - Bautista
SS - S Castro
OF - Granderson
OF - Ellsbury
OF - Morse
Util - Werth

Bench: Soriano (DL), Rizzo

SPs:
Verlander
Oswalt
Kershaw
Liriano
Hellickson
Cueto

RPs:
Marmol
Putz
Storen
Bailey

I like the odds..... I am motivated by some of this year's youth. I think Soriano could also be replaced.

Toronto delayed Lawrie's callup becuase he was HBP in the hand.

I would want to know more about the injury before making a decision.

IF Lawire is OK, then yes I would stash Lawire because he appears to be a hitting machine and 3b is so weak plus Toronto's other options are not good.

Please help with mine. viewtopic.php?t=432939

Yeah, Laws out for a while. I'd keep Sori and roll with Rizzy.

The fact that Lawrie broke his hand, doesn't make me want to keep him on my roster, especially a non keeper league, when this may delay him being called up. I've read 2-4 weeks, but thats not counting all the rehab for it. I think I'd rather hold on to Soriano, knowing he's going to play, then a guy that may not be called up.

*Side note:

I'm a navy corpsman, and from my experience with broken hands, its not a slow recovery, but not fast either. Some therapy or strengthening is going to be needed for this injury. And its all about how the hand will respond to that, will determine how fast he's brought in. And if Toronto isn't in the mix for a playoff spot, they may not bring him up at all. Not sure how that whole arbitration works, but they might be able to avoid that until next year. THats worse case scenario though.
