Choo for Gallardo. WHIR

Postby DerekBDoherty » Thu Jun 09, 2011 4:08 pm

I give up Gallardo. Thoughts? Choo is slumping pretty badly right now, and Gallardo is starting to hit his stride, but I still think I am getting more value here.

14 Team H2H Keeper, But Auction-Keeper ($130/$260 budget can be kept each year) and I can't see myself keeping any of these guys at their current salaries, so treat it as a re-draft. Owner has also offered to throw in his P. Alvarez for my A. Huff.

Choo has been one of the years biggest let downs. Gallardo on the other hand, is a very young guy showing flashes of brilliance.. no deal.

Yeah, no dice. Your pitching isn't good enough to lose a guy like Gallardo. If you're not going to keep a guy like Gallardo then why would you keep Choo (a middle of the pack OF)? Getting Alvarez would be nice but until he proves something it's not worth it.

Why no RP? And why is Lackey on any fantasy roster, anywhere?? haha.

Definitely do not make this trade, you can get much more value for Gallardo then just Choo.

Thanks for quick responses. My thoughts too at first, but when I took a look at a couple updated rankings (from here and rotowire's updated rankings), Choo was still well ahead of Gallardo. But Choo continues to struggle, even more lately, and Gallardo continues to look more like a stud after a tough first month.

No RPs more or less by choice. With a bunch of extra starters in my h2h I get Ks and Ws pretty much every week in exchange for punting saves. Managed to win the league last year with this strategy as it works fairly well in the regular season, and creates real problems in the playoffs for other managers. Lackey was just added. I think there's a decent chance he bounces back, and for now I only use him when I need Wins or Ks later in a week. Pretty slim pickings for FA pitchers and thought he was the best option when I had a roster spot open up.

no you got enough issues your dealing with

morneau and all his crap
vernon wells
gordon beckham

i do think between willingham lomo and vernon wells your 3rd outfeild spot wont be a problem

but utility 1bag and 2bag are all major issues you dont wanna take on a outfeilder struggling heavily

for as of today yovanni is your ace with j weaver slipping a little bit his last few starts
