Honestly. Is it worth stashing Lawrie still? WHIR

Postby jruffus1 » Thu Jun 09, 2011 2:21 am

I am in a 12-team H2H NON-Keeper league. I was greatly anticipating Lawrie's arrival, but after the news about his hand... and then Pedroia's knee... I quickly dropped Lawrie for a fill-in 2nd baseman.

If Pedroia Goes on the DL (which is almost certain), I will have an empty roster spot. The person who is currently in 2nd place has Uggla and has been trying to get rid of him for awhile. With that said, I assume that he was pissed that he missed out on Lawrie because he had added other prospect call-ups (Hosmer) fairly quick.

So... Do you think I would be able to snatch up Lawrie again after he heals/is close to being activated? Or should I just stash him?

Remember, this is a NON-Keeper league, Here is my roster:

C - V-Mart
1st - Votto
2nd - Pedroia (DL?), R Roberts
3rd - Bautista
SS - S Castro
OF - Granderson
OF - Ellsbury
OF - Morse
Util - Rizzo

Bench: Werth, A Soriano (DL)

SPs:
Verlander
Oswalt
Kershaw
Hellickson
Liriano
Cueto

RPs:
Marmol
Putz
Storen
Bailey

Grab Lowrie. He can contribute this season, and if he starts out hot like Hosmer, you could spin around and flip him quickly for a more proven guy who may be struggling, like Uggla. Just hope Pedroia hits the wire soon.

I would take a flyer in Lawrie, he should be able to match whatever fill-in 2B you picked up and has a lot more upside.
