Hellickson and Rasmus for Ryan Zimmerman? WHIR

Postby tommo » Wed Jun 08, 2011 9:59 pm

Currently in a 12 Team H2H Points league with one keeper (Players eligible if drafted in 6th round or later). Was offered Ryan Zimmerman for Rasmus and Hellickson. I have to accept this right? Hellickson has been awesome lately, but Zimmerman is a stud when healthy. I'd move Bautista to the OF with CarGo and McCutchen. Last thing to note is both Rasmus and Hellickson are keeper eligible however I haven't put much thought into who I'll be keeping yet. Thanks for the help! ;-D

My team:
C: Carlos Santana
1B: Joey Votto
2B: Martin Prado
3B: Jose Bautista
SS: Yunel Escobar
OF: Carlos Gonzalez
OF: Colby Rasmus
OF: Andrew McCutchen
U: Eric Hosmer
Reserves: Casey McGehee, Hanley Ramirez (DL), Domonic Brown

SP: Brandon Beachy
SP: Roy Oswalt
SP: Shaun Marcum
SP: Jaime Garcia
SP: Jhoulys Chacin
SP: Jeremy Hellickson
SP: Jordan Zimmerman
SP: Edinson Volquez
SP: Phillip Humber
RP: Carlos Marmol

Well Bautista loses 3b eligibility in most leagues after this year so you'd essentially improve your keepers and lineup with this deal. Go for it.

C: Carlos Santana
1B: Joey Votto
2B: Martin Prado
3B: Ryan Zimmerman
SS: Yunel Escobar (Hanley)
OF: Carlos Gonzalez
OF: Jose Bautista
OF: Andrew McCutchen
U: Eric Hosmer

That is a sick team if you ask me, illegal.

:-D Yeah my lineup would be amazing, but I currently lack a true Ace. I am only allowed to keep one player drafted in the 6th round or later, so neither Bautista or Zimmerman would be eligible, but it would definitely help my lineup this year assuming Zimmerman can stay healthy.

I think I am going to accept it right now. Should I be worried about my pitching? I guess I'll be rolling with Marcum, Oswalt, Garcia, Chacin and either Volquez/Zimmerman/Humber/Beachy (when healthy) every week.

When Hanley gets off the dl see if you can package Yunel + Hosmer for a good young arm. You do need pitching and normally I wouldn't say deal a good young arm since you don't have a lot but your pitching is rather weak anyway and he's not an proven ace, yet. I would try to acquire a proven stud arm. Oswalt is kinda shaky as an ace...

I could pick up Norris too add to my pitching depth since I'd be going 2 for 1 for Zimmerman. I really like Hosmer and would possibly debate keeping him for next season if he keeps playing like he is. He's been a great since he came into the league, but I could always pick up Tabata, Pagan, or Alex Rios if I end up dealing Hosmer.

Rios makes a nice rebound stash for sure.

Um but your fine where you are for now.
