R.Howard and J.Sanchez for J.Werth and T.Hanson

Postby V » Wed Jun 08, 2011 8:57 am

I'm in first place with minimal needs. I've been trying to sell high on Berkman or make a 3 for 1 or 2 for 1 type deal to free some roster space.

This doesn't really do that, but I'm a Sanchez fan (obviously, he's not going to help the WHIP, but the Ks are nice), and Howard should be easier to package in a 2 for 1 type deal with someone who needs HRs/RBIs than Werth (who I've shopped, but no one is a believer).

 Seems like a slight downgrade on SP for a slight upgrade on offense. Ok deal?

My team:
C: J.P. Arencibia
1B: Kevin Youkilis
2B: Neil Walker
3B: Evan Longoria
SS: Jhonny Peralta
IF: Lance Berkman
OF: Curtis Granderson
OF: Jayson Werth
OF: Matt Joyce
OF: Michael Bourn
U: David Ortiz
BN: Grady Sizemore

SP: CC Sabathia
SP: Tommy Hanson
SP: Cole Hamels
RP: Chris Perez
RP: John Axford
P: David Price
P: Josh Beckett
P: Mark Melancon
P: Andrew Bailey
BN: Mat Latos
BN: Eric Bedard

Yeah, I like it. No matter what happens, I don't think you'll lose big, Howard would definitely be easier to trade, and I've never been a big fan of Werth's. I like Sanchez a lot, too, as you can tell from the post of mine you helped on. Thanks for that.

i like this deal put ryan howard at your infeild then move berkman to the outfeild

i also think trying to find someone who will pay for berkman is important as for him doing this for the whole year doesnt look like it is gonna happen and i was saying sell 3 weeks ago

and j werth isnt helping your team at all and you no ryan howard is gonna be big all year long he always is not as great as he was in 05-08

the pitching is hansons worth more right now but you get the better batter and i think that always wins out and sanchez isnt terrible and can have extremely good nights himself

I like the Howard side as well... Sanchez is pitching very well & does not show any sign of slowing down.

Ok do not go crazy. Your OF is already weak enough but sliding Berkman there solidifies it and Howard is a huge upgrade. You have the pitching to deal Hanson and your getting back a comparative option. Do the deal and do not look back. Jayson just isn't worth it anymore.
The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!
