Deep Mixed vs Shallow Mixed Leagues Help

Can someone please explain the difference between the two leagues, I'm having a hard time with the two. I'm in a 10 team league, but lots of experienced players...and I guess our roster is "deep" is that where the two differ? I use a lot of different fantasy sites, and they use those two words a lot.

a standard 12 team 25 roster spot league will have 300 roster spots. Your 10 team 27 roster spot league has 270. IMO deep is something like 350 players or more rostered.

When they say a player would be worth a look in deeper leagues, that means 10 team leagues probably won't have a use for that player as their starters will be better than that. If your league starts roughly 50 outfielders the 60th best outfielder probably remains a free agent or on the bench. In a deeper league (12-14 teams) where they might start 60 or 65 outfielders he's worth adding. Your league is a little different as you have a DH & 2 Utility spots so the positions are a little more jumbled.Basically they are just referring to # of starting positions your league uses and some players fall into that grey area of being starter worthy or not

And I've been pretty much taking it as how "deep" we are based on the # of players we start thus far. Some guys I've added based on that, and others I've passed on.
