Weaver/Polanco for Cain/Ellsbury

Postby Mikdonn2 » Tue Jun 07, 2011 1:32 pm

I'm in a 12 team h2h 10x10 league

I think this is a pretty fair trade for both sides. I have been hurting in SB category all year and Ellsubry is currently a top 10 player doing it all with 22 SB. Weaver has obviously been great, Polanco has been solid but has fallen off a bit from his early hot start and Cain is a solid starter on a shitty team. I would still have Verlander as a #1 type pitcher. I'd have to start B. Roberts at 2nd base going forward and my OF would be pretty crowded. I am just a little worried I don't have enough pitching to give up Weaver.

Do you think this trade makes sense for me to do or should I leave it be? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

I think you win this deal. Ellsbury is the best player in the deal, and the difference in value between him and Polanco more then makes up the gap between the two starting pitchers.

Who will play 2B for you though?

I'm sorry, I also have Youkilis on my team. I left him out. He has been playing 3rd base and I plan on moving him back to 1B once Zimmerman is healthy. I've been switching Wallace and Trumbo at 1st in the mean time.

I'd have to start Ryan Roberts at 2nd base or look to make another trade for a 2nd baseman in the future.

Nice...... If SF can find some offense, it's a good deal for you. Ellsbury is the best player in the deal.
