How is my team? Points team

Postby Quaker » Mon Mar 29, 2004 10:56 pm

I posted this already under a different topic, but no one replied, even though I've offered plenty of advice to others.

10 team MLB points league, deep because of many positions to fill.

Points favor power, barely reward speed.
Total bases- 1 point; RBI-1.5; Run-1; Steal- 1; K- minus 1; GIDP- minus 2

C- LeCroy
1b- Sweeney
2b- Boone
SS- Arod
3b- Ensberg
IF- Klesko
LF- Berkman
CF- Wells
RF- Nevin
OF- Giles
Util- Griffey
Util- Dmitri Young
BN- Geoff Jenkins, Kaz Matsui, Jason Phillips (keeping him around until I make sure LeCroy will play more)

Pitching points
Wins- 13; CG- 15; SHO- 20; SV- 6; K- 1.5; GIDP- 2; HLD- 3; K- 1.5

SP- Mulder
SP- Mussina
RP- Mantei
RP- Nathan
P- Aquino Lopez
P- Looper
P- Baez
BN- Carlos Zambrano, Wade Miller, Millwood

I know I don't have the greatest closers, and I don't care because the good ones are worth about half a decent hitter.

What do you all think? Any recommendations?

drop baez and lopez (lopez isnt even the closer) for SP

bench nevin for genkins and bench griffey for kaz

all in all pretty solid team but you need more SP for wins and those closers were not even closers/garbage

I don't have more SP because it's a points league with an inning cap. I've done the math, and closers (even garbage closers) get more points per inning than SP. I thus want to get as many innings as possible from my higher points per inning pitchers. If I could get all my points from these pitchers, I would, but there aren't enough slots.

I realize my RPs aren't necessarily the closers, but since a lot of teams closing situations aren't confirmed yet, there's not a lot I can do. I check ESPN's closer report all the time.

Not a bad team. Scoring system real confusing for me, lol, but...

Your 5 starters are awesome. I wouldn't drop Baez, but I would bench Mantei since he's injured.

Keep an eye on the Jays situation, not sure who will be closing.

Kaz or Young over Klesko at IF?
