there has been some talk about moving Furcal to 2B when he comes back. Furcal has said he is willing to move if it helps the team. now it appears that may not be the case.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said he "(doesn't) know if it's the right time" to move Rafael Furcal (oblique) to second base.
The Dodgers have toyed with the idea of moving Furcal to second and keeping Dee Gordon at shortstop. But, it sounds like Donnie Baseball is leaning towards not following through with the idea, as the Dodgers have not discussed having Furcal play some second base during his rehab assignment. "Even though he's willing to do whatever you ask," Mattingly said of Furcal, "that doesn't mean he really wants to do that. So I don't know if it's the right time. We'll keep having discussions, see what's going on with Dee and what we're thinking at that point." Furcal is expected back in early July.

Gordon has been struggling. now down to .231 AVG/.254 OBP.
he better pick things up if he expects to remain on the team and not be sent back down to the minors.

Very interesting to see what happens when Furcal is back, certainly isn't room for both of them (without Furcal playing 2B), and they aren't going to just keep Dee on the bench....

In all seriousness I can't see a reason why Gordon shouldn't be sent down when Furcal returns.

Furcal is being activated before tonight's game and is the starting SS. Gordon not in the lineup. speculation was that Gordon would be sent down to the minors with the activation of Furcal, but it looks like maybe Casey Blake will be placed on the DL instead. still the Dodgers are going to have to find playing time then for both Furcal and Gordon. I'm not sure Gordon would be a fantasy option much anymore if he isn't starting every day.
